Must the crescent be seen with the naked eye, or is seeing it through modern equipment such as telescopes sufficient?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Equipment may be used to identify the place, elevation, and direction of the crescent, but the crescent is not established unless it is seen with the naked eye.
