Question 156
The Exalted said: ‘And when the souls are paired’ ([302]). What is meant by the ‘pairing’ of the souls in this noble verse?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. Every soul is paired with darkness or light; it is paired with wilaya or with breaking the covenant and pledge ([303]). Then, ‘A soul will know what it has brought’ ([304]): it brought justice or oppression; it brought light or darkness with it; it brought wilaya or the breaking of the covenant and pledge. Sayyid Ahmed Alhasan Vicegerent and Messenger of Imam al-Mahdi (a)
