Is covering beneath the chin obligatory for women, and how far must it extend? I request a prompt reply. Sender: Umm Banin - Australia

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them abundant peace. A woman may uncover the face, but the area below the chin is not part of the face, so it must be covered. Ahmed Alhasan
