Question 437

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. O Allah, send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you, my master and guardian, O Yamani of the family of Muhammad. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you, O supporters and guardians of Allah. Is dealing by installments-dividing payments over a specified or unspecified period-permissible, knowing that an amount exceeding the known price of the needed item is taken? Is there a difference in dealing with this matter between the supporters and non-supporters? May Allah reward you a thousandfold. Sender: Ali al-Salihi - Iraq

In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds, and may Allah send prayers upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis, and grant them peace. Taking a financial increase in exchange for delaying payment of all or part of the price due for purchasing a particular thing is forbidden usury. Usury applies between believers, or between a believer and a Muslim who professes love for Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the Imams and the Mahdis. There is no usury between a believer and a nasibi, or between a believer and a non-Muslim. Peace, mercy, and blessings of Allah be upon you. Ahmed Alhasan Late Safar 1431 AH
