Question 54

Must a child below the age of legal responsibility recite the adhan and iqamah, when the prayers are voluntary for him?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

The boy's prayer is valid even if he does not recite the adhan and iqamah. However, a person performing a voluntary prayer does not follow him in congregation unless there is an adhan and iqamah.
