Question 53
When time is very short, do the adhan, the iqamah, or both cease to be required?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
If the time is so short that only enough remains to perform the prayer's rak'ahs, then both the adhan and the iqamah are omitted. If there is enough time for the iqamah but not the adhan, the iqamah is obligatory without the adhan.
