Question 13

The Laws of Islam states that if a person has enough time before sunset for purification and five rak'ahs, both Dhuhr and Asr become obligatory. If a person is in a constrained situation and, before Fajr, has enough time for purification and only some rak'ahs, must he perform both Maghrib and Isha?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is sufficient that he have time for four rak'ahs before Fajr for both Maghrib and Isha to become obligatory upon him.
