Question 5
Modern science has established the existence of a planet on which one day is equivalent to one thousand Earth years. If a legally responsible person were on this planet, where one day equals a thousand years, how would the person pray? Would prayer still be required, given that the period from dawn to noon would be more than about four hundred years and another three hundred years to sunset? Would the prayer be shortened or complete, and in what direction would the person face for the qiblah? Would the person fast, and how would the fast be performed, assuming the person does not know the time but knows that the month of fasting has begun?

When there are legally responsible beings on other planets in this vast universe, God, Glorified is He—who sent messengers to the people of Earth—will send them messengers who make their obligations and acts of worship known to them. Those acts of worship may share nothing with the acts of worship on Earth except that they are remembrance of God and an effort to know Him, Glorified is He.
