Is greeting one another after prayer by shaking hands part of the Sunnah, an innovation, or something else?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
In general, it is recommended to shake hands with a believer and supplicate for the believer, especially when performing acts of obedience such as fasting, prayer, and visiting the friends of God. Therefore, after completing the prayer, it is recommended to shake hands with the believing worshippers to one's right and left, to seek blessing through shaking their hands, and to pray that their worship be accepted.
