Question 165
What is the ruling on wearing imported leather from non-Muslim countries that is made into jackets, shoes, belts, and similar items, including during prayer, when its ritual-slaughter and purity status are unknown?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
It is not judged to have been ritually slaughtered or to be pure unless it becomes known that the animal was slaughtered according to the religious requirements.
