Question 163
If a sick person consults a physician and is prescribed a medicine containing some alcohol, may the person take that medicine?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
If the medicine is not intoxicating, and the alcohol in it was not manufactured for consumption by people of immorality for intoxication, it is permissible to take the medicine.
