Question 164

What is the ruling on products made from imported foreign leather, such as bags, watch straps, shoes, and similar items, when it is not known whether the animal was ritually slaughtered or how the hide was processed?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

The leather is not judged to come from an animal that was ritually slaughtered.
