Question 135
When is squeezing or rubbing required, how many times must it be done, and are the hands considered impure while squeezing?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Squeezing is required when it is the means of removing the actual substance of the impurity. There is no fixed number of times; one squeeze may be enough, or more may be needed. The hand is considered impure, but if the same hand continues to be used to complete the purification washing, the hand becomes pure together with the item being washed.
