Question 133
What is the ruling on water or material that reaches a person's body, clothing, or nearby objects while an impure item is being washed?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
It does not make them impure unless what reaches them is the actual substance of the impurity or water whose characteristics have been changed by the characteristics of the impurity itself. Water that has become impure is impure, but it does not make something else impure merely by coming into contact with it unless its characteristics have been changed by the characteristics of the actual impurity or the actual impurity is discernible in it.
