Question 110

Among the recommended acts is writing the Jawshan supplication on the shroud. Is it better to write it with an ordinary pen or with saffron? And how does the supplication benefit the deceased?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

It is better to write it with saffron, and writing it in black is disliked. The deceased benefits from it just as the deceased benefits from charity, prayer, and supplication offered on his or her behalf.
