Question 189

After the liberation of Tal Afar, warehouses were found containing property that ISIS had looted from Shia residents and treated as property of its state. Some stores are unattended and authorities have said the goods may be discarded if returning families do not take them. May a person take what he needs from these stores?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

You may take what you need from them as long as your own belongings were previously looted by them.
