Question 63
What is the ruling on entering Islamic or Western restaurants that sell alcohol, and is it lawful to eat there?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
If serving food is the restaurant's primary business and alcohol is only one part of what it offers, there is no problem in entering and eating there. If its primary business is selling alcohol and food service is secondary, then one may not enter and eat there except when compelled.
