What is the ruling for a person with autism? Is he subject to religious obligations like other legally responsible people?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
God does not burden a soul beyond its capacity. In general, if a person lacks awareness or has extremely weak understanding and perception, it is better to teach him acts of worship-at least wudu and prayer. Even if they are not obligatory upon him, they benefit him in this world and the Hereafter.
