Question 91

May more than one deceased person be included in an Eid al-Adha sacrifice? If so, may the intention for the sacrifice be changed before slaughter to include additional people?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

A goat or sheep is sufficient for one person, while a cow is sufficient for seven people. The intention may be changed before slaughter to include other people, provided the number does not exceed what I have stated.
