Question 9
There is a jurisprudential question about the father's house. When a son who has moved out returns to visit his father, is the father's house considered the son's homeland because he was born there and lived there for a period of time, while the father is still alive? What is the ruling if the father has died?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
This is the father's house, not the house of his son or daughter. If the son or daughter owns no share in it, then he or she is a traveler when going there. If the person later owns a share of the house, then the prayer is performed in full because it is a house in which the person owns a share and in which the person previously lived.
