Question 18
When one has the choice between performing the prayer in full and shortening it in the four blessed places-the Sacred Mosque, the Prophet’s Mosque, the Mosque of Kufa, and the Husayni sanctuary-what are the boundaries of these places within which the person has this choice?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
Regarding the three mosques, everything that falls within their sanctuary has the ruling of choice. The boundary of the Ha'ir is the area surrounding the grave of Imam al-Husayn (peace be upon him) with a diameter of 25 meters.
