Question 72
We are brothers who work in the gold-jewelry trade and want to confirm several aspects of our work: 1. After agreeing on the price per mithqal, may we state a higher amount merely for bargaining, so that we can later reduce it for the customer and appear to have given a discount even though the actual agreed price was never reduced? 2. May I sell newly purchased, unused gold bought from customers without workmanship charges together with gold for which I paid workmanship charges to the wholesaler, at the same selling price? 3. May used gold be sold at the same price as new gold, with payment after an agreed period and without an added amount?
