Question 30
May men wear necklaces? Some brothers have said that it is not permissible because it resembles women. Is this correct?
Ahmed al-Hasan Response:
It is permissible for men to wear necklaces. If a man wishes to wear a necklace, it is recommended that it be of silver or stone on which a remembrance of God or a verse of the Quran is written. It is recommended for a woman to wear a gold necklace on which a remembrance of God or a verse of the Quran is written.
