A woman was married to a man and had no child by him. When he died he left residential land. Does she inherit from him in the land, and what proportion does she inherit? The husband had five brothers, two of them from a different mother, and three sisters from his mother. Both of his parents were alive when he died. The heirs now wish to divide the estate, but his parents died before the estate was divided. What is the wife's share of this inheritance?

Ahmed al-Hasan Response:

The wife receives one quarter if he had no child, either from her or from another wife.
