Regarding Husayniyyas: if they were established for prayer, their ruling is the ruling of a mosque, so a person in janaba, a menstruating woman, or the like may not sit in them, except to listen to the tragedy of al-Husayn (peace be upon him) or to a mourning gathering for the infallibles; when the gathering ends, the person leaves. A person in janaba, a menstruating woman, and the like may also sit or remain in mosques when it is to listen to the tragedy of al-Husayn (peace be upon him) or to a mourning gathering for the infallibles, but leaves when the mourning gathering ends. As for the shrines of the Imams (peace be upon them), the area enclosed by the first structure around the tomb has the ruling of a mosque, provided that it does not extend beyond a distance of 25 meters around the tomb. Any gathering that commemorates the infallibles (peace be upon them) may be attended by a person in janaba, a menstruating woman, and the like, whether it is in a mosque, Husayniyya, or the shrine of an infallible. This includes celebrations of births and similar gatherings, not only commemorations of deaths. If a Husayniyya was established for serving food, holding mourning and remembrance gatherings, sleeping, and similar services, and congregational prayer is not held there regularly or frequently, then its ruling is that of a house and the rulings of mosques do not apply to it.
